The footage begins in Kalm, in the middle of a celebration of some sort. You then see Vincent sitting on top of a window, and it is evident that he has no care for the celebration. Within moments,
Kalm is assaulted from the sky. Soon after, the video turns to a young girl, who locates Vincent. This triggers the actual gameplay, and you assume control of Vincent.
A mix of third-person shooter and first-person shooter, the default view is like that of the 007 games, where it seems like you are looking over someone’s shoulder. At this point, you can either commence hand-to-hand combat, or wield Vincent’s gun by pressing the R1 button. While pressing the R1 button, the view changes to somewhat first-person. You can then continue on with the gun, or un-wield it with the X button.
It is evident that you will need to toggle between the two views swiftly, according to the situation. If your opponent is at a distant, you will have to use gun attacks. However, this doesn’t mean that guns can’t be used with nearby opponents. As long you have a short-range gun equipped, there will be no problem. In the demo, Vincent can toggle between 3 guns by pressing the L2 button. The first, is the hand gun which is used for fast, mid-range attacks. The second, is the rifle, which is used for long ranged attacks. The rifle also comes with an aim scope.
Finally, there is a machine gun, which is used for short-range attacks. It is quite likely that Vincent’s weapons come with some Materia,
considering you can use magic. But
nothing about that has been
confirmed.
