OVERVIEW

Final Fantasy IX marked the third and final installment in the series for the Sony Playstation. Unlike the other two Final Fantasy games released for the Playstation, FFIX is set in a medieval era, displaying few signs of advanced technological development. This one of the features, in addition to the general gameplay and graphics, displayed in the game which is reminiscent of the first six Final Fantasy games. Overall, it's a delight to the fans who had felt that the previous two Final Fantasy games had lost the general spirit of Final Fantasy, but there have been many criticisms that FFIX is too easy, bland or boring. Yet it's another instalment in a great series and it must definitely not be missed out.

STORYLINE

A dark force is at work when mindless dolls on a limited life span are created to spread fear and destruction wherever they may go. Also a dark figure has been spotted at the Alexandria Castle, he's been selling weapons to the Queen and has been poisoning her mind with ideas of destruction. One kingdom, that of Lindblum, lead by Regent Cid, has finally decided to take a stand against the unspeakable massacres by the Alexandria troops.

With the aid of mere bandits to kidnap Princess Garnet for information. Garnet and her bodyguard join Cid in his mission to stop the Queen and her evil deeds. Who counter attacks with a onslaught of warriors, which sparks heated crossfire between the two kingdoms.

One mere boy from Baku's band of thieves and others along the way embark on a great journey through Gaia to save it from certain destruction. Final Fantasy IX spans across four discs and has to be one of square's greatest creations. This will quickly become a instant favorite, don't over look this great game.
