Grab the potion in the back before lighting the candle. When the party is
attacked by Baku, have everyone steal until he has nothing left. The rest should
be simple. When Baku explains the mission, answer his question wrong about 64
times and a secret scene will happen.
Alexandria
There are many items and cards scattered here. Press X when ever a ! Appears
over Vivi's head. Don't pass up the jump-rope mini-game in the main square.
Agree to the rat-kid's offer. After he runs off with the ladder, be sure to talk
to the guy in the alley because he will teach Vivi how to play Tetra Master. Be
careful, he might take some money in the alley if you are to slow to talk to
him. Chase after the rat-kid, Puck. Be sure to get Kupo's Mognet letter. Check
for items on the roof tops. During the battle in the play, the SFX don't seem to
be important, but they liven up the battle. They swordfight can be repeated
until you get favorable results.
Alexandria Castle
The Pluto Knights can be found slacking off in various parts of the castle, but
aren't hard to find. Run up to the top of the tower to the left of the castle to
spot the Princess.There are now three battles with Tantalus against Steiner.
During the first have one character steal while the others attack. In the second
battle, Zidane and Marcus should attack while Vivi uses magic and Garnet heals.
The third battle should be fought the same way.
Evil Forest
Zidane has to go into the forest to get Garnet almost immediately. Here you must
fight a plant boss that likes to trap characters. In the first battle, Garnet is
trapped. This shouldn't be tough since Zidane trances and is able to use the
first of his powerful Dyne attacks. In the second battle, Vivi is trapped, but
he casts Fire on the boss anyway. Zidane should try to steal the leather wrist
from the boss, while Steinei, of course, attacks. Back on the Prima Vista,
Zidane has a choice of whether to leave or not. He goes after Garnet regardless
of what decision you make. Zidane has to fight Baku before leaving. This battle
is easy, but it is important that you do not defeat him until you have stolen
his Iron Sword. It is necessary to use potions to heal. Be sure to get the items
on the wreck ship before leave, and buy some Eye drops from Cinna. In the forest
you'll find Monty the moogle. Give him Kupo's letter and take any that he might
have (I can't remember if he has a letter). Eventually you come to the Plant
Brain. Be sure Steiner has the Iron Sword and Vivi has a Leather Wrist and Silk
Shirt. Vivi and Steiner need to use Fire attacks, while Zidane should fight, but
you might have him steal too.Don't worry about the spiders that chase you
afterwards, they are very weak.
World Map Level up against the monsters here, and learn new abilities. Head west
to get to the North Gate to get some items there. Then head southeast from there
to reach the Ice Cavern.
Ice Cavern All the enemies here are weak against fire. When a symbol appears
above your head, you can use Vivi's magic to bust through the ice and get an
item. Do the same to free the moogle Mois from the ice. He has a Mognet letter.
Zidane must fight the Black Waltz boss alone. The Black Waltz also summons a
Sealion to help. If Zidane Trances, use his Tidal Flame to end the battle
quickly.After getting out of the cave, Garnet decide to take the alias, Dagger.
Dali Region You come out of the Ice Cavern into the Dali Region. If you a little
out of your way, you can reach South Gate to rest and buy items. Go to the
mountain near the town before entering Dali. Here you can talk to Morrid and
learn that he's looking for rare coffees. Now go into the town of Dali.
Dali Finally, an Inn. When Zidane wakes up, search for Dagger and Vivi. Check
the first floor of the windmill to find Aries, the first Stellazzio. Go back to
the Inn and be sure to talk to the moogle, Gumo for Mognet purposes. Dagger and
Zidane notice that Vivi is missing. You find out that Vivi is underground, so
you must use a not-so-secret hatch in the windmill. You find that Vivi's been
captured for some unknown reason. Kumop the moogle is down here. Chase the
captors until you find a box that contains Vivi. The characters get stuck in
boxes, but Steiner frees them.Outside the cargo ship, you are attacked by the
second Black Waltz who is trying to recapture the Princess. Vivi and Steiner
should use Blizzard. Dagger obviously should heal, and Zidane should attack, but
it wouldn't hurt to steal either. After the fight, you take off on the Cargo
Ship.
Cargo Ship The ship is filled with Black Mages that won't respond to anything.
Head to the ship's bridge. The third and final Black Waltz attacks the ship.
Vivi Trances, so use his Double Black. Steiner should use Thunder Sword. Zidane
should probably do some stealing. After the battle, you attempt to flee through
South Gate, and you cause some major damage in the process. Now you are on your
way to the Lindblum Grand Castle.
Lindblum
Here you discover that Garnet's kidnapping was actually the plan of Regent Cid,
who is the leader of Lindblum and has been turned into an oglop. Zidane meets an
old friend, Freya in a local bar. Now explore the town to get items. There is a
moogle in the Inn and one in the castle, so do any necessary Mognet work. Make
sure to synthesize The Ogre for Zidane at the Synthesis shop. If you don't have
the right items to synthesize, you can go buy them. Get the items in the
Tantalus hideout. Go back to the castle to find Dagger. You must take the
uniform from a sleepy guard to get onto the elevator. Find Dagger at Lindblum's
telescope. Now you must participate in the Festival of the Hunt. No matter who
wins you get an item, but Zidane's prize is 5000 gil so you may want to get him
to win. Afterwards, a soldier from the country of Burmecia inform Regent Cid
that his country is under attack. Unfortunately, Dagger and Steiner ditch the
party at this point, but the powerful Freya joins. You now go to Lindblum's
Dragon Gate. Here there is a merchant and a moogle with a letter. Now enter the
Lindlum Plains.
Qu's Marsh
The first place you need to go is the Qu's marsh to the north and get Quina to
join the party. (You must catch a frog for her). You might want to do some frog
catching now because you can get items if you do. Out on the plains, try to get
Quina to eat a Serpion, because it teaches Quina the great defensive spell,
Mighty Guard.
Chocobo's Forest
You can go far to the East to reach the Chocobo's forest. Here you meet the
chocobo, Choco, and his friend, Mene the moogle. Mene will give you a gysahl
green so you can summon Choco at any chocobo tracks. Here you can pay money to
Mene to play the chocobo Hot & Cold game. You can try to get the first
Chocograph now and get some items, but really there isn't much to do yet.
South Gate
If you need to level up some on the plains, you should use the area around South
Gate because you can get healed there. Be sure to get the items, too.
Gizamaluke Grotto
The place has already been trashed by the enemy. In the entrance you get your
first Gizamaluke Bell from a dying Burmecian soldier. Using a bell on a door
causes the door to break and the bell to shatter. In the next area, the
Alexandrian jesters, Zorn and Thorn, send Black Mages to attack you. After this,
you must attack another Black Mage to get the next Gizamaluke Bell. Use the bell
on the door to the left at the top of the stairs. This gets you a Bronze Vest
and a soldier with another Bell. Use this bell on the door to the lower-right.
There is a moogle trapped in a large bell here, but the smell of Vivi's Kupo Nut
gives him the strength tp break through. Get the Gizamaluke bell from the chest
and head to the right. Here you find the moogle couple again. Mogmi functions as
a regular moogle, and she has a letter, too. DO NOT climb the vine in this room,
because it leads to an area with VERY difficult monsters. Moguta gives you a
Holy Bell on your way out of the room. Go to the left, now. Here you fight
Gizamaluke himself. Use Zidane's Soul Blade with The Ogre to blind Gizamaluke.
Vivi should use Thunder, Freya should jump, and Quina should use items to heal.
You can try to steal an Ice Staff from Gizamaluke, but it's nearly impossible to
do it, though. Now the scene switches to Dagger and Steiner at South Gate.
South Gate
Don't miss the Multina Racket in the first area. To get rid of the people in the
alley, you must console Mary, and you must tell the other guy about the slacking
worker. Dagger now gets out of the bag of Gysahl Pickles. You can buy items
before leaving on the cable car. Now you go back to Zidane's party which is now
entering Burmecia.
Burmecia Plains
First head east to go to the Burmecian side of North Gate. There are some items
here, but nothing else because a battle had taken place here recently. Heading
north leads you to the rainy kingdom of Burmecia.
Burmecia, Realm of Eternal Rain
At the entrance, it is already obvious that the place has been destroyed. In the
area after the entrance, be sure to check behind the overturned cart to get the
second Stellazzio, Cancer. Proceed to the back where Zorn and Thorn send more
Black Mages at you. Go up the steps. There are treasure chests here, but some
contain enemies. Ignore the locked door for now and keep going to the left. You
see a treasure chest, but you can't reach it because part of the balcony falls.
Head back outside and go to the door on the left. Here you find that the fallen
balcony has bridged a gap on this floor. Go up and hop across the balconies to
get to a room with a dying Burmecian soldier. He tells you that there is a Bell
under the bed. Get the bell and head back to the locked bell door. Here you find
some fleeing Burmecians. In the next area, go to the central-bottom door to save
some Burmecian who you tell to go to Lindblum. Go up and take the door on the
left. You come to a courtyard under the castle. There are two doors, the one on
the left gets you a Mythril Spear for Freya, the one on the right leads to a
Lightning Staff for Vivi and some moogles. Don't forget the Mognet here.
Stiltzkin offers a good deal on items, and Atla runs a mogshop, so stock up on
anything you need. Now head to the castle, making sure you've updated your
equipment. At the castle's gate, leave Freya alone and she will leap to the top
of the wall. Zidane goes after her. They find out that Queen Brahne was behind
the attack. A mysterious man appears who seems somehow connected to the Black
Mages. You learn that they are now planning to attack Cleyra. You rush out to
save a Burmecian soldier who challenges General Beatrix. Now you fight Beatrix.
You can try to steal a Mythril Sword from Beatrix, but it is nearly impossible.
Freya should cast Reis's Wind. Vivi needs to use Thundara and Blizzara if
available. If Quina has enough MP she should use Mighty Guard. Once you deal
enough damage to Beatrix, she takes out the entire party with Stock Break. All
of the bad guys leave you behind to die.
