South Gate Summit Station

The game now switches back to Dagger and Steiner on the Cable Car. The car arrives at the South Gate Summit Station. You are told to wait for the next cable car to Alexandria. You can buy anything you need in the Rest Area's shop. In the rest area, an attendant will tell you that the car to Lindblum is leaving. You hear a familiar voice..... Run outside to see Marcus and Cinna. Settle the argument between the thieves and Steiner. Now you leave on the cable car to Alexandria with Marcus. During the ride, you are attacked by the Black Waltz 3 again. Dagger should cast Protect and Shell and heal as well. Steiner and Marcus just simply attack. The Black Waltz has nothing good to steal. The car finally arrives at the Alexandrian side of the South Gate. Part-time worker Mary opens up the Vega shop here, so stock up. Be sure to get the elixir and money that you find here. Now go out into the Treno Plateau area.

Treno Plateau

In this area, you may encounter a ghost monster that won't attack you, but will ask for an ore. Give him an ore and you will receive a lot of AP after the battle. Before entering Treno, go beyond the city to go to the Quan cave. You can heal in the hot spring here, and the Stellazzio Scorpio is just below the spring in a little niche in the cave wall. Now you can head to Treno.

Treno, Dark City

Dagger and Marcus leave Steiner behind at the entrance. Now Steiner must wander Treno, while seeing several ATE's. If you can manage to see all of the ATE's then you get to see a secret ATE. Toss 10 gil into the fountain 13 times to get the next Stellazio, Gemini. The Stellazzio Taurus is behind the item shop in the slums. Give your current Stellazzios to Queen Stella to get some nifty prizes. The moogle Mogrich is in front of the Weapon Shop and he has a letter from Stiltzkin. You can find Marcus in the Inn to start the search for Supersoft. You meet the Princess's former tutor, Dr. Tot while trying to steal the item. He promises to get it for you. Now you must head to his house which is located in the previously locked tower. He gives you the Supersoft and then takes you to Gargan Roo to get to Alexandria.

Gargan Roo

Run to the left and activate the switch there. Now run to the right and to the back to call the Gargant. Now run to the front of this area and flip that switch to make the gargant stop. After getting on the gargant, you are attacked by the Ralvurahva. Dagger should use Protect and heal. Steiner and Marcus attack. If you're feeling confident, you can have Marcus steal, too. You are on your way, but now you must go back to Zidane's party in Burmecia.

Burmecia

The party decides that they need to save Cleyra from the same fate as Burmecia. Head west to reach Cleyra.

Cleyra

The sandstorm dissipates just long enough for you to enter. Pull the lever on the right to open the seal. There are some partially hidden items in the next area. Go outside and go up. Put your hand into the hole below the last chest to flood the room below. Cross the now flooded room to get a weapon and be sure to give a letter to Monev the moogle. Go up and take the stairs on the left. There are some hidden items in the next area. Head through the cave in the very back to pull a switch. Now take the far-left cave. Soon you enter an area with whirling sink holes. It is difficult to maneuver here without falling in, and there are some items in the back which are difficult to reach. After this area you come to a ladder which finally leads to the town of Cleyra.

Cleyra Town

Freya will leave to find the king immediately. Have Zidane take the tour of the place. Even after this you should explore some more to get familiar with the town's layout, you'll need to know later. There are items scattered everywhere, especially in the Inn. Get the letter from the moogle Mopli in the Inn. Enter the cathedral to find out that Freya wants you to wait at the Inn. Now you are forced to help a kid who has been trapped by an Antlion. The kid is none other than Vivi's friend Puck and the prince of Burmecia as well. Freya should use Reis's Wind, Vivi cast Blizzara, and Zidane does the usual. Freya and some Cleyran dancers try to strengthen the sandstorm, but the harp breaks and the sandstorm stops. Now you must go back into the tree trunk to fend off Alexandrian soldiers. You must head back to Cleyra after suspecting a trap at the plank bridge. Back in the town you must fight soldiers and Black Mages while trying to save the citizens. Here is where you must remember the town's layout to prevent their deaths. Eventually you reach the cathedral where you must get a letter from Mopli, and the survivors will give you items. Proceed into the cathedral to see Beatrix stealing Cleyra's jewel. You now fight Beatrix again. Use the same strategy as the first fight with her, but make sure Vivi casts Blizzara. The party now chases after the Alexandrians, but they leave Quina behind. Overhear Brahne's conversation and be sure to use Serino's Mognet. Now you use the teleporters to reach Alexandria.

Alexandria Castle

Marcus and Steiner swing back and forth to break free of their cage. You'll be attacked by Alexandrian soldiers after breaking free. After the fights, be sure to unequip Marcus before proceeding, because he will leave. Steiner meets up with Zidane, Vivi, and Freya. You now have only 30 minutes to find the Princess before the Queen's ship arrives. Try to avoid the soldiers, who will attempt to chase you. The Knights of Pluto won't fight you, though. Fight your way into the Queen's chamber. Pull the purple candle int the back to reveal a secret passage. When you reach the circular platform at the bottom of the pit, enter the upper door to find Zorn and Thorn with the Princess. Now you must fight the jester twins. Use Ice elemental attacks with Vivi and Steiner. When one twin casts a Flare or Meteor spell on the other, attack the one that received the magic to nullify the attack. Be sure to talk to Mosh the moogle. Head back up to the Queen's chamber where you fight Beatrix for the final time. Have Vivi and Steiner use Blizzara, while Freya uses Reis's Wind. Beatrix ends the fight with a Climhazzard attack. Freya and Beatrix team up to fight the monsters sent by Zorn and Thorn. The rest run back down the pit. At some point Steiner turns back to join Freya and Beatrix. Talk to Mosh again at the bottom, because he now has a letter. Zorn and Thorn trap the party at the bottom again, but Marcus and the revived Blank come to the rescue. You attempt to flee on the gargant but are attacked by another worm boss, Ralvuimago. Dagger should heal and protect, Vivi should use Blizzara, Zidane should try to steal the Oak Staff for Vivi. Don't attack while the monster is coiled up. The party now runs from the monster and completely passes by Treno. The gargant continues on until you crash at Lindblum's Pinnacle Rocks.

Pinnacle Rocks

Here you meet the Eidolon, Ramuh. He tells you to find his five different forms, and to assemble a story from what he tells you. Exit the first area and go talk to the moogle Monty. Run back to the original area to talk to get the "Hero" part of the story. Run back to the area with Monty and run up the branch to the left to get the "Beginning" part. Continue on the branch and head right until you come to a bridge. Jump off the bridge when a ? appears. Moving to the left down there gets you the "Silence" story part. Go around the branch and head to the treasure chest, here you should get the "Cooperation" part. Head down from there to get to the area under Monty and you'll find a partially hidden Ramuh who gives you the final "Human" part of the story. Run back up around Monty and go past the bridge that you jumped off. Beyond here is the exit where Ramuh asks you to put the story together. I forget what order the parts go in, only that it starts with "Beginning." No matter what ending you choose, though, you'll receive a Peridot which allows Dagger to learn the Ramuh summon. Now leave the rocks and head to Lindblum.

Lindblum

Unfortunately, it is too late for the heroes. Brahne summons the Atomos eidolon to destroy Lindblum's Industrial District. When you enter the ruined town, it is filled with Alexandrian soldiers, but they won't attack you. Get the rare Lindblum card in the back of the Business District. You meet Minister Artania in the Business District, who takes you to Regent Cid. Cid forms a plan to attack Brahne's weapon supplier, Kuja, on the Outer Continent. He tells you to find a place called Fossil Roo. You can now explore the town. When you are ready to leave, talk to a man in the area where you found Artania. Get the letter from Moodon in the Inn, then go to the Theater District to tell Lowell about Ruby's theater. There should be more items in the Tantalus hideout now. When you talk to the man to leave, you go to the base level of the castle. Here Cid gives you the World Map. Leave through the Dragon's Gate and Head to the Qu's Marsh.

Qu's Marsh

Go to the frog pond to get Quina back on your team. Now head to Quale's house. Go through the reeds to the right of Quale's house. Quina will chase after a frog and lead you to the entrance to Fossil Roo.

Fossil Roo

The first thing that happens is a monster, Armodullahan, comes after you. There are three areas with swinging pendulums while the monster chases you. In the first area, run to the top of the pendulums. In the second, run to the bottom of the pendulums. And in the third area, run to the top. If you do it right, you can continue running without having to stop. After you get through that, you are attacked by the bounty hunter, Lani. In the battle with Lani, have Dagger use Ramuh, Vivi use Fira, Blizzara, or Thundara, Quina use Mighty Guard, and if you feel lucky you can try to steal. Go down the steps and to the left. There are some yellow flowers here. Pick one and bring it to the right until a ! Appears to catch a ride from a wild gargant. Get the Fairy Earrings and return to the first area. Move down into the next area, talk to the moogles at the bottom, and head past the Treasure Hunter. Call a gargant, then head to the right to flip switch #1. Call the gargant again which will now take you to a different area. Climb the steps here to get an item, take the lower path to find Switch #2. Call the gargant back and go back to the first switch and switch it back to the original position. Take the gargant back to the area with the Treasure Hunter and go to the bottom-right and call a gargant. You come to an area with another Treasure Hunter. Take the stairs up to reach Switch #4. Go back down and call a gargant to get an item. Go back to the switch and set it back to the original position and then ride the gargant again. You come to an area with vines on the wall. Move under the first face, which will knock you down to the bottom with water. Get out and climb the vines to the upper-right. In this area you find another Treasure Hunter who will allow you to dig in the area. Dig on the far right where you can free the moogle Kuppo. You can dig around some more to find a few items. Go back to the vines and climb to the upper-left and flip switch #3. Go back to where you first entered the vine area and call the gargant to leave. You come out on the Outer Continent.

Outer Continent

Feel free to use plenty of Tents here, because you'll need them. Try to get Quina to eat a Griffin to get the White Wind blue magic. Go through the canyon under the bridge-like structure and circle around until you can get onto the plateau. Now head for that bridge-like structure and enter it.

Conde Petie Now you have come to Conde Petie, the home of the dwarves. Don't argue, just respond them with their greeting, "Rally-Ho." Eventually you will encounter a Black Mage, who will run away. A dwarf will tell you about the "Pyntie-Hets" who live in the south-east forest. Leave the town and get off the Plateau and circle around to get to a long stretch of forest with the Black Mage village at the end. In the forest on the world map, you may encounter the Ragtimer. Answer his questions correctly to get money. Continue on to the raised part of the forest

Black Mage Village

You'll come to an area with a fork in the road with a sign in the center. The sign tells you where there are owls and where there are no owls. Run to the area where there are no owls. You'll re-appear in the same area, just check the sign again and run to the area where there are no owls. Repeat this until you see a Black Mage run away. Now you can enter the village. Here there are shops, an Inn, and a moogle, everything a normal town needs. The Virgo Stellazzio can be found in the Inn. You learn that you need to head to the north-west to find Kuja. Now you must return to Conde Petie to reach the Sanctuary beyond.

Conde Petie

Go back to Conde Petie and head up to the ceremonial area and find the gatekeeper who is blocking the exit there. He tells you to find the village priest. You can find him in the hallway outside of the Inn. He tells you the only way to get through is to get married. Zidane and Dagger then proceed to have themselves married by the Conde Petie priests (The marriage is a sham but the priests don't have to know that.) You can have them continue on and leave Quina and Vivi to find their own way past the guards, or you can have Vivi and Quina get married as well. Either way you end up on the Conde Petie Mountain Path.

Mountain Path

On the way out of town, you see a little girl running from the Conde Petie guards. Once on the Mountain Path, she'll join the team when Quina runs off in search of food. Her name is Eiko and she can also use Eidolons and White Magic, but her abilities differ from Dagger's. Make sure to find all of the colored stones in this area: Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow. After spotting the massive Iifa Tree in the distance, you soon come to a boss fight against Hilgigars, a big green giant. You might have Dagger and Eiko use float to protect against Earth attacks, but they should summon when they have the chance. Vivi should use Bio if he has it. Having Zidane steal would simply be a waste of time. Eiko then leads the group to her home town, Madain Sari.

Madain Sari

Now you come to Madain Sari, the lost village of summoners and currently home to Eiko and several moogles. Once you get the chance to wander town with Zidane, head immediately to the fountain in the center square to receive the Libra Stellazzio. If you try to enter Eiko's home, the moogle Morrison will stop you, but offers to take you to see the Eidolon wall. After seeing the wall, find Dagger and take her to the wall. During this sequence of events, there are a few short scenes where you must help Eiko make people since she forgets to include Quina. After dinner and a few other events, the party decides to head for the Iifa Tree.

Iifa Tree

Return to the Mountain Path to find another route that leads to the Iifa Tree. Eiko breaks the seal on the Tree and you receive a Ruby which allows Eiko to learn the Carbuncle summon. Equip it to her immediately unless she hasn't fully learned Fenrir yet. Travel along the tree root and talk to the moogle Mocchi along the way. The enemies here seem to be weak against fire. You'll come to a platform that takes you down below the tree. Work your waycooking decisions. Eiko only counts 10 people to get water for, but get water for 11 down the tree's roots until you come to a circular root with a leaf-like platform that will take you to the very bottom. The characters will talk for a while and be attacked a few times and there's only one chance to use items outside of battle. At the bottom, the characters don't find Kuja, but they encounter the Soulcage boss. It would help if the characters have healing abilities like auto-regen or auto-potion. Use your Eidolons, have Vivi cast Bio, but do NOT have him cast fire on the boss. If Zidane trances, his Dyne attack makes short work of the boss. I've heard it's possible to kill this boss with a Life spell of Phoenix Down. Once he is defeated, the Mist disappears from the Iifa Tree and the Mist Continent as well. A moogle tells Eiko to return to Madain Sari because a precious item has been stolen.

Madain Sari

You discover that Madain Sari's precious stone, the Memory Earring, has been stolen. On top of that, Eiko is captured by someone. Head to the Eidolon Wall to find Lani the bounty hunter again. Morrison will heal you if necessary. Once inside the Eidolon Wall, Zidane fights another bounty hunter, alone. Zidane should have Auto-potion and High Tide equipped as abilities. Don't attack the mercenary when he leaves the center of the battle field, only once he returns to the center and says "Here I go." Zidane should eventually go into Trance and he should use his most powerful Dyne attack (probably Solution 9 at this point). Both bounty hunters are gone now, and Eiko recovers the Memory Earring. Dagger walks away, you can find her just outside of Eiko's house. At the town's entrance, the mercenary Amarant returns, not to fight, but join the team. Now you must choose a party since you now have more than 4. I recommend Zidane, Vivi, Amarant, and Eiko. Now head back to the Iifa Tree.

Iifa Tree

You don't have to go very far before the party confronts Kuja, but you don't fight him yet. Instead he sends Mistodons to chase you. You can avoid some of the battles against the Mist monsters, but some are unavoidable. When you reach the bottom, Dagger tries to enlist the help of the Leviathan Eidolon and receives an Aquamarine. Queen Brahne shows up at the Iifa Tree at the head of a an Alexandrian fleet. She and Kuja proceed to have a battle of supremacy, but things turn bad when Brahne summons Bahamut but Kuja takes control of him and uses him to destroy the Alexandrian fleet. Finally, the second disc comes to an end.
