Magic, in Final Fantasy VIII works a bit differently than in previous games. You can no longer learn magic from items, or automatically, but instead you draw magic from a target or a 'draw point' in the group. Draw points exist all over the world, and some are even hidden! Remember, that all characters can draw up to 99 of each magic in a slot, however, characters can not hold each type of magic at once! Below is a table of all the magic in the game.
The only spell left out is Apocalypse, because it's only
available in the last battle.
