Final Fantasy Versus XIII is the first announced title for the
PlayStation 3 which, alongside Final
Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Agito
XIII, makes up part of the
compilation Fabula Nova Crystallis:
Final Fantasy XIII. Unveiled at E3
2006, the game is "not merely a
sequel, but a wholly independent
story unfolding in a different world
with different characters." The game
will be developed by the team
responsible for the hit Kingdom
Hearts series. Tetsuya Nomura will
be the director.
It has been stated this game will be action-oriented. IGN have speculated
this game could be out in 2008.
Unlike for Final Fantasy XIII,
Square-Enix has not publicly
released a trailer for this game.
"Versus", in Latin is a word that roughly means, "to change direction".
